Mechanism of Actions of Drug Candidates
Cell-based screening plays a very important role in drug discovery. The hits or leads identified from a cell-based screening have the advantage of being more clinical relevant over that from a target-based screening. However, its biggest shortcoming is that the molecular target or mechanism of action of such a hit is often unknown, and lack of such information makes it difficult to further improve its efficacy and toxicity profile in pre-clinical and clinical development.

Historically, it has been very difficult to identifying the molecular target of a hit compounds. The advances in the mass spectrometric based protein technologies have overcome many of those difficulties. At ProtTech, we have developed a chemical proteomics based technology (patented) that is able to specifically identify target proteins at a high background of contamination protein. Based on this proprietary technique, we offer the service to help our customer to identifying the molecular targets of drug molecule. This technology can also be used to validate the lead compound from in vitro mechanism based screening.
